The Big Lemon launched its plans for the next stage of its solar bus transformation on Saturday (10 March), to help it achieve its strong 2030 vision that "by 2030 every community in the UK has access to affordable, sustainable transport, using zero-emissions vehicles powered by renewable energy and owned by the local community"

The operator set itself a challenge: Can Om Shanti – the UK's first solar-powered zero emissions electric bus – get around all six Big Lemon routes on a single charge while in service?
The Big Lemon says: “We made it with a whopping 36% charge remaining at Brighton Station.

“In #SolarBusChallenge we covered 85 miles on six routes with one #SolarBus, five drivers, and lots of happy passengers. And at the end we still had battery left.”
