Bus Users UK marked the final day of Catch the Bus Month yesterday by teaming up with Lincolnshire County Council to host a one-day exhibition of bus-related photography in Lincoln.
A series of photographs of bus stops around Lincolnshire were displayed inside buses at Temple Gardens, Lincoln.
The event marked the end of a month-long programme of activities around Britain to promote bus travel.
The photographs were also posted on the social media of council-run brand LincsBus throughout September, reaching more than 60,000 people.
Mike Reed, Head of Transport at Lincolnshire County Council, says: “This photography exhibition celebrates the wide range of people who use buses across Lincolnshire and their many reasons for doing so.
“The event may be fun; however, Lincolnshire County Council is serious about investing in our bus services including real time displays, new bus shelters and value-for-money fares.”
Catch the Bus Month was co-launched by Bus Users UK and Transport for West Midlands on 1 September at the Coventry Transport Museum. The promotional activities around the country included a photoshoot in Westminster involving members of the All-Party Parliamentary Group.
Lydia Horbury, Bus Users UK Director for England and Catch the Bus Month Campaign Lead, adds: “Lincolnshire County Council have run an incredible campaign for Catch the Bus Month and their stunning photos and videos show the huge level of support across the county for these vital services.
“This exhibition has been a fitting end to what has been an amazing month, celebrating the impact and benefits of bus services on the environment, on local economies and on our health and wellbeing.”
