Greener Journeys’ annual ‘catch the bus’ campaign launches July
Catch the Bus Week returns for its sixth year on 2nd-8th July, in a bid to promote and encourage bus travel.
Started by Greener Journeys, it is encouraging operators to get behind the initiative once again, from ticket promotions to eye-catching stunts, carrying out little activities throughout the week will encourage the travelling public to get involved.
Last year’s Catch the Bus Week was the biggest yet with almost 300 operators, local authorities, politicians and supporters taking part.
Says Greener Journeys: “This year, we’re hoping to do even better – and seasoned Catch the Bus Week participants might notice a fresh look and feel, as we launch a new and improved website.
“Buses are cleaner than ever, but in order to realise their potential, Clean Air Zones need to embrace bus travel as a fundamental part of the solution.
“With Catch the Bus Week, we have an opportunity to remind policy makers of just how crucial the bus is.”
Since 2013, many operators have backed the campaign including: Arriva, First, Go-Ahead, Stagecoach, Abellio, Blackpool Transport, Cardiff Bus, Chalkwell, East Yorkshire Motor Services, Nottingham City Transport, Grant Palmer, Ipswich Buses, McGill's, Newport Bus, Prentice Coaches, Reading Buses, Reays, Sleafordian, Transdev and Centrebus.
