The British Coach Tourism Awards returns to the National Motorcycle Museum on 20 March. You are invited to enter and nominate now
It’s time to start getting ready for the hottest night of the coach tourism calendar.
Yes, the prestigious British Coach Tourism Awards (BCTAs) has its date for next year.
Taking place at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham, adjacent to the NEC, the Awards on 20 March are timed to coincide with the British Tourism & Travel Show (BTTS) on 20-21 March.
The awards are the highlight of the coach tourism industry's calendar, when operators, attractions, hotels and wholesalers come together for a fantastic evening of invaluable networking and, more importantly, taking home well-earned recognition for their hard work over the last year.
Plans are already being made for the most show-stopping BCTAs yet.
For the first time, the gala awards dinner will be black tie and award categories are open for operators to nominate those they feel are the best in the industry.
Why enter?
There are two purposes to the BCTAs.
The first is to recognise and reward those businesses that make life as easy as possible for coach group organisers – attractions, destinations, hotels, wholesalers and other suppliers that contribute to the UK’s thriving group tourism sector by being as “coach-friendly” as possible.
The second strand to the BCTAs is the all-important operator awards. From having a stunning holiday brochure to efficiently running a high-quality fleet, the BCTAs reward coach tour operators that showcase to the rest of the world just how good coach holidays can be.
Taking part
Historically, entries have been self-nominated, but this year operators are being welcomed to nominate their favourite attractions, hotels and suppliers, providing an even greater chance of them being recognised for their commitment to the coach tourism industry.
The deadline for nominations is 30 November.
Self-nominations are still more than welcome.
By entering, you stand to gain recognition for the hard work you and your team have put in over the past year; the opportunity to raise the profile of your business among your clients and the coach tourism industry; and the opportunity to differentiate what you offer from other businesses.
And there’s more to taking part than winning. As well as enjoying a top-class gala evening of entertainment, all those businesses and individuals shortlisted in each category benefit from the PR and media opportunities generated from being involved in such a prestigious and established industry Awards scheme – the only one to focus on the coach tourism sector.
The deadline for entries is 21 December.

Your submission will be carefully considered in January by a panel of coach tourism industry experts, who will be going through entries with fine-tooth combs to identify the very best in the business.
Once they have made their decisions, the shortlist will be published in January.
On the night
Regular guests at the Awards will need no reminding of what a special night it is. A fantastic location is a must and in 2019 the BCTAs will return to the National Motorcycle Museum – a stunning venue with a proven track record.
No less important is the host for the evening, and organiser Diversified Communications UK is very excited to announce its star presenter – though the name is still a closely-guarded secret for now.
The third element to the brilliant evening is the entertainment, and this year's, while also top-secret for now, definitely won't disappoint.
Tickets for the event are £118 + VAT per person or for a table of 10 £1,180 + VAT. The cost of a ticket includes a champagne drinks reception, three-course dinner with tea and coffee, wine for the table and an evening of fantastic entertainment.
