Members of the Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT) are being urged to have their say on Public Service Vehicle Accessibility Regulations (PSVAR) at a virtual meeting with Under-Secretary of State for Transport, Richard Holden, on 1 August.
Member coach and bus operators and manufacturers will have opportunity to feed into the shaping of future accessibility regulations via a Zoom call, at which Mr Holden will be joined by DfT officials and other stakeholders.
DfT published its call for evidence on the review of PSVAR on 12 June with a deadline for submissions set for 4 September. The government’s response is expected by the end of this year.
Participants will be able to give their opinion on which services should be in scope of the Regulations in future, what action they want DfT to take and what other aspects of PSVAR should change.
The industry association says: “As the leading trade body for bus and coach, CPT is working with our bus and coach commissions and our wider membership base to create a coordinated PSVAR industry response to the government’s questions.”
The meeting will be chaired by routeone Editor Tim Deakin.
CPT members who are interested in attending can email paul.street@cpt-uk.org to confirm their place and receive joining instructions.
