Scania has confirmed delivery of a new Irizar i6s Efficient to Dunwood Travel of Dudley.

The 14.07m-long tri-axle, which is built on a K410NI chassis, has been down-seated to 53 from 59 for extra leg room.

Its 13-litre engine comes with a 12-speed Opticruise gearbox and it is PSVAR- and GSR-compliant.

Features include extra-padded, half-leather seats, wood-effect flooring, centre WC, hot water boiler, dash-mounted fridge, extra-dark tinted windows, USB charger points at all seats, Webasto pre-heater, and alloy wheels.

The operator, which now has a fleet of 16 vehicles, intends to place it mainly on UK tour work and some European trips.

Dunwood has now added seven Scania Irizar i6s Efficient coaches over the last 12 months.

Director Phil Westwood says: “The new arrivals represent a balanced approach to fleet management, supporting the Dunwood brand presence in its expanding holiday market and group operations across the United Kingdom and Europe.

“Five of the new vehicles are PSVAR-compliant, showing the company’s commitment to high-quality, passenger-focused vehicles for accessibility and comfort.

“This balanced fleet strategy ensures greater resilience, adaptability and cost-effective fleet management, while maintaining the high standards of comfort, reliability and service that customers expect when travelling with Dunwood Travel.

“The latest additions continue Dunwood’s investment in modern vehicles, ensuring passengers benefit from a comfortable and dependable travel experience, while the business remains well-equipped to meet growing demand across its ever-increasing private hire, tours and group travel.”
