Managing Director for Stagecoach South Edward Hodgson, who earlier this year announced his intention to depart from the group, has decided he will remain in his current position.
According to the operator his decision to stay follows “discussions with Stagecoach colleagues and careful consideration”.
Says Interim Regional South Director for Stagecoach Rupert Cox: “We’re delighted that Edward will be staying with us at Stagecoach. He has been a valued member of the team and as we start to rebuild from the impact of COVID-19 and deliver the improvements to services planned as part of the Department for Transport’s National Bus Strategy, we need experienced people like Edward.
“Working with our local authorities in the south, we have great plans to deliver improved bus services for our customers, and I’m glad that Edward will be here to support that.”
Edward adds: “I’ve had a fantastic career at Stagecoach and after a period of reflection, I’ve decided that I’m not ready to move on and instead look forward to playing my part in the future of the business.
“There are some exciting times ahead as we work towards the delivery of bus service improvement plans in our region and I’m excited to be leading on this for Stagecoach in the south.”
Edward has been with the operator for over 30 thirty years. He took on leadership of Stagecoach South in 2016.
