Faiveley Vapor Ricon worked with Salmond’s Coaches to install the lifts

Salmond’s Coaches, a family firm based near Edinburgh, took the decision to make several members of its fleet accessible by equipping them with lifts from manufacturer Faiveley Vapor Ricon (FVR).

“It has been a privilege to support Salmond’s team with its approach to ensuring its fleet is equipped to allow everyone to enjoy private hire vehicles and visits,” says FVR Sales Manager Michael Dickinson.

Lifts from FVR’s S Series – a range of split platform products that are fully automatic – were installed in a variety of different size vehicles, including minibuses.

The lifts offer many innovative design aspects, including easy operation and maintenance, and they have a non-intrusive space-saving footprint while being suitable for most small and large vehicle requirements.

An in-board roll stop, hand-operated controls and other functions give users complete peace of mind regarding passenger safety.

Stacey Salmond, Operations Manager at Salmond’s Coaches, says: “We position ourselves in the marketplace as a high-quality transport provider, and therefore we required a quality product. The S Series lift easily meets that criteria. For example, lifts of this kind have to undergo regular tests and the S Series has passed all of those.”

Stacey also pays tribute to FVR’s sales team, describing them as incredibly supportive. “We were delighted with every part of the process. Now, after the installation, we are proud to be a pioneer in offering accessible coach and minibus travel in Scotland.”

FVR also offers a wide variety of other products to suit the accessible market, including wheelchair securement, ramps and winches.
