First Bus is continuing its preparations to take on franchised services in Manchester next year by appointing Paul Townley to the newly created role of General Manager in Rochdale.
Mr Townley, who was has worked for First Bus since 2010, will take up his latest post at the beginning of November. He will report to Zoe Hands, who was named Managing Director of First Bus Manchester, Midlands and South Yorkshire.
He has had various roles with the operator before most recently moving into the commercial team.
The latest post will see him overseeing all areas of operations, engineering, commercial and support functions, while liaising with Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) over the delivery of services on the newly launched Bee Network.
Mr Townley says: “This is an exciting time to be involved from the start a fresh challenge as the way bus services operate in Greater Manchester changes.
“First Bus is getting ready to make its mark in the Bee Network and I’m looking forward to helping build our team as we prepare to deliver excellent bus services in Rochdale and the wider community.”
