From Tuesday 29 May passengers will be able to buy a range of First bus tickets from vending machines located at seven bus interchanges around South Yorkshire.

Says South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE) Director of Customer Services, Tim Taylor: “We’re making it more convenient and offering more choice to customers buying these tickets.

“We’re always exploring how we can make using the bus an easier experience for passengers in South Yorkshire and this is just one step towards that.”

The machines will help customers save money and time on their journey.

First bus fares will be increasing from Sunday 27 May, but from buying tickets from the machines or via the First app, passengers can get a better deal. Tickets will be cheaper when bought prior to boarding the bus.”

Passengers will be able to upload their First tickets on their TravelMaster cards, 16-18 Travel Pass and MegaTravel cards at machines located at Arundel Gate Interchange, Barnsley Interchange, Doncaster Interchange, Hillsborough Interchange, Meadowhall Interchange, Rotherham Interchange, Forge Island Bus Station and Sheffield Interchange.

Payments can be made using cash, card or contactless.
