Fivebars was promoting its fixed-cost wi-fi at the show. With no initial start-up cost, the package is akin to a personal mobile phone contract, priced from £50 a month per unit for 60gb of data.
The package is aimed at smaller operators who would struggle to meet the up-front costs of buying wi-fi units for all their fleet. The Fivebars team say that many of their customers are now relying on on-board wi-fi to win corporate contracts.
The units are also GPS tracked, fully supported with software, which saves operators getting vehicle tracking from a separate supplier.
Fivebars emphasises that the units are fully supported.
