First Bus in Bristol will introduce a single ‘flat fare’ for the first time.
Set to come into effect on 11 November, it will cover Bristol and the surrounding areas of South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and Bath and North East Somerset.
Fares will be going up as well as down across the board.
The flat fare will be £2.00 for those purchasing a pack of five singles on the mTicket app or Travelwest smartcard, while for those for those paying on the bus, the flat fare will be £2.50 instead of £2.00 and £3.00 as now. All single journeys on metrobus will also now be £2.00.
First West of England MD James Freeman says: “We think that the new flat single fare for Bristol will be welcomed. It will give people in all areas of the city access to our range of services at one simple price.”
