Flibco has announced it is introducing 18 new coaches to operate on its London Stansted Airport-London services, with a new north London terminus being added to the network.
The airport transfer specialist, which launched into the UK in April 2025, competes with National Express for services into the capital. The Coach Travel Group was contracted to supply the transport at half-hourly intervals. Flibco has confirmed that the additional vehicles will also be operated by The Coach Travel Group.
With several stops in central London, including Liverpool Street and Stratford, already served, Flibco will add a new route to Finsbury Park in north London from 20 April.
The Luxembourg-based company says investment from Flix, which became a majority shareholder in the company in January, has enabled expansion of the network.
Flibco, which had already operated in several other European countries, uses a platform based on AI and advanced data processing to enhance timetabling and boost efficiency.
The business notes an increase in the modal share of public transport from 46.9% to over 48% in the last year, stressing coach travel’s impact in reducing congestion.
London Stansted’s Surface Access Strategy Manager, Steve Mills, says: “Flibco’s new Finsbury Park service is a very welcome addition to London Stansted’s already extensive coach network and will provide passengers and airport staff across north London with a convenient and sustainable choice when accessing the airport.
“London Stansted is the UK’s number one major airport for public transport use by passengers, with nearly 50% travelling by coach, bus or train.
“These new services to and from Finsbury Park and Enfield, plus our growing and successful partnership with Flibco, will help us maintain and build on our proud track record as the airport continues to grow.”
After winning the contract to operate out of Stansted, Flibco has indicated a desire to expand into other airports.
Mandy Round, Country Director of Flibco UK, says: “We are delighted to announce our further expansion into the UK with a fleet of 18 brand new coaches and our new London Stansted to Finsbury Park route.
“As passenger numbers continue to grow, improving how people travel to and from airports is becoming increasingly important. Expanding public transport options is a key part of that solution”.
“London Stansted is the start of our investment in the UK market. Through our data-driven approach, new routes and expanded services, we can demonstrate how quickly we can increase transport capacity, helping airports reduce congestion and improve connectivity.”
