Hunts Coaches of Alford has been recognised for its support of the armed forces community after the Lincolnshire operator became one of a record 32 organisations in the East Midlands to receive the Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award 2021.
The Award is presented by the Ministry of Defence to companies that employ and support people who serve in the armed forces, veterans, and their families. Hunts is a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant as part of what it says is “a show of support to our incredible armed forces,” adding that it encourages other businesses to become involved with the Covenant.
Hunts Coaches was presented with its award at the International Bomber Command Centre in Lincoln by Commodore Rob Bellfield CBE ADC of the Royal Navy (pictured, right).
Says Director Joe Hunt: “We are delighted with our achievement as an Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award winner. Our Lincolnshire family business pledges to treat all of those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, fairly.
“We are proud signatories of the Armed Forces Covenant. Those brave men and women have done their duty for this great nation, so it is now our duty to make sure that they are given the opportunity to bring their invaluable skills and expertise to our business.”
