Irish Ferries is to build a new ship for its Holyhead-Dublin crossing, which will reportedly be the largest cruise ferry in the world in terms of vehicle capacity.
The €165m ship will weigh over 67,000 tons, and be able to carry up to 1,500 cars or 330 trucks when it enters service in 2020.
The ‘super-cruise’ ferry will be the largest of four ships in Irish Ferries’ fleet, one of two super-cruisers making the 3hr 15min journey.
