KB Coaches has credited fleet software systems from TruTac – part of the Microlise group – for its acceptance into DVSA’s Earned Recognition scheme in 2020.
The Stonehouse operator decided to pursue Earned Recognition around two years ago, and Director Andy Francis observes that all the scheme’s standards are those that are agreed to by operators when they obtain an O-Licence.
At that point, KB was already using two TruTac products – TruCheck, which ensures that walk-round checks are done correctly – and the TruAnalysis PSV tachograph analysis system.
The move to Earned Recognition saw the operator take on more TruTac products: the TruFleet vehicle maintenance management programme, and TruLicence licence verification software. Those additions enabled the operator to submit the required KPIs to DVSA to prove compliance and management credentials, meaning its vehicles are less likely to be stopped by DVSA enforcement officers.
“It’s also so much easier managing things like maintenance digitally,” adds Andy. “All of the TruTac products seamlessly work with each other. The simplicity of the system and the full integration makes everything easy to manage and we would not be without it.”
