I read with interest the news story in last week’s issue about the support from Highfield Qualifications for employers in the transport sector faced with the apprenticeship levy.
However, on further investigation, I was dismayed to find that Highfield Qualifications only offers qualifications for those wanting to further their knowledge in the public transport sector. An ‘Award in Knowledge for a Professional Bus or Coach Driver’ is all well and good, but what about help putting people through their test?
I would like to know how operators can use this apprenticeship levy for things that are actually useful, such as Driver CPC and putting people through their PSV licence training.
Are there any organisations out there that will help put drivers on the road? Because at the minute, the tax is just a waste of time.
