Lothian Buses has unveiled a newly wrapped bus that promotes its charity of choice, Support in Mind Scotland. It marks an extension of the charity partnership between the two organisations by a further year to the end of 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The bus operates from Marine garage and will serve routes across Edinburgh and the Lothians. Its livery design has been created in a collaboration between the operator and the charity. Carrying the message that anyone can experience a mental health issue, with silhouettes depicting how common in society those difficulties are, the vehicle also carries the charity’s contact details.
Says Lothian Buses Communications Director Gaynor Marshall: “Mental health issues can affect anyone at any point. We are delighted to extend our charity of choice partnership with Support in Mind Scotland for a further year, as we continue to work together to raise awareness of the work that it does and the support services that it offers within our community.”
Adds Support in Mind Scotland CEO Frances Simpson: “The launch of this bus is a fantastic milestone in our exciting partnership with Lothian Buses.
“Support in Mind Scotland is delighted to have the support of Lothian and its employees in addressing mental health as an issue that affects all of us, and we are extremely grateful for the opportunity to recognise our work at the Stafford Centre and raise awareness of mental health across Edinburgh and the Lothians.”
