Lucketts Group is making a record-breaking £7.5m investment in its fleet this year. The cash injection comes as the company embarks on a new phase of expansion.
In total 26 new vehicles will join the Lucketts fleet this year: Six Scania Interlinks, two Mercedes-Benz Tourismos, 14 National Express Levantes, two minibuses and two mini coaches.
A dozen of the new vehicles will be for Lucketts’ core brands: Coliseum Coaches in Southampton; Worthing Coaches in Sussex and Lucketts Travel in Fareham.
The remainder will be used for services Lucketts runs for National Express; more than 100 journeys every day.
The project marks the largest annual investment Lucketts has made in its fleet in its 91-year history. It has 130 vehicles, ranging from six-seater chauffeur cars, to 63-seater luxury coaches and 70-seater buses.
MD Tony Lawman said: “The significant value of this investment reflects our confidence and ambition for the future.
“Lucketts has grown to become one of the region’s leading independent coach travel providers and we intend to build on that success in coming years.
“Ensuring we have the most up-to-date vehicles in our fleet will allow us to do that and give customers the best very best experience.”
