Stagecoach has announced the appointment of Marc Reddy as the new Managing Director of its bus operations in the south. Marc, who is currently with First Bus, will take over the role on 1 July.
As the Managing Director of Stagecoach South, Marc will be responsible for a team of approximately 1,400 people and over 400 buses. His role will involve working closely with local stakeholders across Hampshire, Portsmouth, Surrey, and West Sussex, as well as overseeing the delivery of services that connect communities across the south.
Marc brings with him extensive experience in the transport industry, having first joined Bournemouth Transport in 1992. He progressed through the business to become Coaching Director in 1999 before joining First Bus in 2001. He has held various roles within the company, including Commercial Director for Hampshire and Dorset and Managing Director of Aircoach services in Dublin. He has also led operations in Devon and Cornwall, as well as Hampshire, Dorset, and Berkshire.
In 2022, Marc was awarded the prestigious ‘Manager of the Year’ accolade at the routeone Awards. He is also a passionate volunteer at HM Coastguard in Dorset.
Commenting on his appointment, he says: “I am excited to be joining Stagecoach to further build upon the great partnerships in place with key stakeholders across the region. I am also looking forward to working with a great team across Stagecoach South and further develop the benefits of great bus services in our towns and cities.”
Rupert Cox, Regional Director South for Stagecoach, adds: “We’re pleased that our customers and employees in the south will be able to benefit from Marc’s extensive experience of running bus services across the area. He brings with him a positive track record of stakeholder engagement and this will be hugely important as we work with Local Authority partners to improve bus services and encourage more people to get back on board.”
The interim Managing Director for Stagecoach South, Gordon Frost, has been thanked for his contribution to the business since October 2022.
