Sister companies Mellor Bus and Treka Bus have announced a partnership that will bring together their product offerings and sales and account management teams. The Woodall Nicholson subsidiaries say it will “enhance value to customers” and optimise business operations.
Unification of the sales team gives country-wide coverage for both manufacturers via three representatives:
- James Cook (pictured, left): South East England
- Jane Dransfield (pictured, middle): North of England and North Wales
- Stephen Haywood (pictured, right): Central and South West England, Scotland, and South Wales.
Although they will work across both brands, operations and aftercare at Mellor and Treka respectively will continue with dedicated teams. A statement from the two businesses says that such a policy will ensure a seamless transition with minimal disruption.
The partnership between the two OEMs leaves them “poised to deliver unparalleled value to customers across the UK and beyond,” the statement continues. It adds that clients can expect continuity of service under the new arrangement.
Strategic alignment will also allow Mellor and Treka to streamline their sales efforts to provide customers with a comprehensive suite of passenger transport solutions tailored to their needs, the statement adds.
Speaking about the decision, Head of Sales for both brands Richard Matthews says: “Both businesses carry the same values and focus on inclusivity and dignity for all passengers, product innovation, and customer service, so this move is a natural evolution for us.
“For many years, there has been an overlap in the customers we are talking to as different companies with complementary products, but both brands belong to the same Woodall Nicholson group of companies and share the same strategic intent in the market.
“This move will help us to focus our efforts on adding value to customers and developing our business further.”
Concurrent with the product and sales team alignment has been confirmation that the Sigma battery-electric bus range no longer forms part of the Mellor range. Previously, it was built by Wisdom Motor and badged as a Mellor product.
