Stagecoach Manchester has announced a number of promotions across its Greater Manchester depots.
They include Zachary McAskill and Gary Banks, who have been named Operations Managers at the Hyde Road and Ashton depots respectively; Mark Mageean, who has been appointed as Commercial Manager for Stagecoach Manchester; and Michael Gaskell, who has been promoted to Operations Manager for Wigan.
Zachary, previously Operations Manager at Stagecoach’s Ashton depot, has become Hyde Road’s youngest Operations Manager on record at 24 years old. The depot is Stagecoach’s largest in the UK, with 220 buses and 600 staff covering 15 routes.
Meanwhile, Gary takes over as Operations Manager at Ashton depot having held several positions at Stagecoach across depots from East Scotland to Stockport and Wigan.
Mark takes over as Commercial Manager for Stagecoach Manchester having held roles as Operations Manager in depots such as Skegness, Middleton, Wigan and Hyde Road.
All three have progressed through the company from joining Stagecoach’s Graduate Scheme, which provides an entry into the bus industry for university graduates.
Meanwhile Michael, who joined as a part-time driver in 2000, takes over as Operations Manager for Wigan after 22 years in the Stagecoach business.
Over those years Michael has worked as a Route Inspector on Manchester’s busiest bus corridors and held management positions at the Stockport and Sharston depots.
He also spent four months on Secondment at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
