Scania Fencer f1 with P C Coaches

PC Coaches has become the first UK operator to take delivery of a Scania Fencer. The Fencer f1 in question was previously used by the OEM for customer and press demonstration work and it was also at the centre of the global launch of the Fencer range, which was staged in the UK in May.

The purchase continues a well-established relationship between the Lincoln operator and Scania. All 68 of PC Coaches’ heavyweight vehicles are from the Swedish manufacturer, with Managing Director Peter Smith (pictured, second from left) attributing that loyalty to the quality of both the product and the aftersales support.

“We were looking for a vehicle that would be suitable for both service and school work. With seatbelts fitted the Fencer fits the bill perfectly,” says Mr Smith. “As a fully built-up bus from Scania, we regard the Fencer f1 as an exciting, innovative new product and we are therefore delighted to be the first UK operator to put one into service.”

PC Coaches took delivery of its first Scania in 1988. It has strong relationships with both Scania’s national coach and bus team and its local dealership, adds Mr Smith.

Scania (Great Britain) Sales Director – Bus and Coach Martin West (pictured, right) joined Mr Smith and other representatives of Scania to hand over the bus at its Milton Keynes head office.

“The single-deck Fencer f1 is just the beginning of a new bus platform for Scania. The vehicle has been extremely well received since its launch and the next demonstrators, featuring our new generation chassis technology, will be with us early in 2022,” says Mr West.
