Roberts Travel Group’s newest coach will be called “Harmony” after the operator announced the results of a public competition.
The Leicestershire-based operator revealed Samantha from Dudley to be the winner of the contest to name the new Mercedes-Benz Tourismo.
Samantha, who enjoyed a tour of Roberts Travel Group’s headquarters to mark the win, will receive a voucher for a day trip for herself and a friend.
She also met Elton, one of the operator’s longest-serving drivers, who has a tradition of naming each coach he drives.
Elton says: “Every coach I drive is like a team member, and the name ‘Harmony’ really captures how well we work together.
“It’s been a joy to drive with Sharon over the years, and now with Harmony, I’m excited for the journeys ahead. It’s wonderful to have the community involved in choosing the name, too.”
The competition was held to mark Roberts Travel Group’s 30th anniversary in 2025.
The winning entry was selected by a panel which included Elton, with the judges noting the name “perfectly reflects the bond between driver and vehicle”.
