Stagecoach East has honoured employees who have been on its team for up to 45 years at its Long Service Awards near Cambridge.
Accumulating 1000 years of service between them, the 28 team members from the Bedford, Cambridge, Fenstanton and Peterborough depots gathered at the ceremony at The Belfry in Cambourne.
Fifteen of the team this year totted up 20 years of services and a further six 25 years. Two were on the staff for 30 years and another three for 35 years, while Aziz Rehman and Alan Sutton were recognised for their 40 years with the business.
Darren Roe, Managing Director for Stagecoach East, says: “A service like running a modern bus network relies on the combined knowledge and experience of its team members. So, I am very proud to honour some of the people who have been here for the longest periods of time.
“This accumulated wisdom is the foundation of everything that we do. It is very striking, as I travel around the different areas, that people enjoy working here, and they have a real passion to provide the best possible service to our passengers. Across Stagecoach East, it is in our DNA to work to provide a service that our passengers and local communities can be proud of.
“Along with the dynamism that comes from new people joining the service, this provides the basis for our future success. So, I would like to offer my thanks to everyone who works so hard every day to welcome our passengers and to keep our communities connected.”
