Shannon Green, an apprentice travel agent at Althams Travel, has been awarded the Unilever-sponsored Intermediate Apprentice of the Year at the National Apprenticeship Awards.
Shannon joined Althams Travel – which has worked with Chorley-based Alfa Travel for more than 20 years – in 2013 and, after becoming a fully qualified travel agent aged 18, she is now Assistant Manager of the branch.
Says Shannon: "I am delighted to have been part of the National Apprenticeships Awards and be named as the Intermediate Apprentice of the year National Winner.
“I am so proud that my apprenticeship has led me along an amazing learning journey and given me opportunities to progress in my chosen career.
“Listening to such inspirational achievements from other apprentices has really confirmed that apprenticeships are an opportunity open to all. I am so proud to have been a part of this amazing experience."
The Awards, now in its 14th year, are run by the National Apprenticeship Service and recognise excellence in two areas: Businesses that grow their own talent with apprentices and apprentices who have made a significant contribution to their workplaces.
