Simba reveals its “luxury Snoozeliner bus service” idea set for autumn 2018
Simba has announced its concept idea for a modern, high-specification, luxury ‘Snoozeliner’ double-decker bus – which it aims to roll out on UK roads from autumn 2018.
The mattress specialists are hoping to have eight Snoozeliner routes across four cities.
The Snoozeliner, designed by Surrey-based Andersson-Wood Architects, has been in development for four months, and will allow passengers to sleep while onboard in one of the 14 available pods.
Each futuristic-style pod will be fully equipped with sound-isolating walls, blackout blinds, and an amber light therapy system as well as various scent infusions that encourage rest.
Simba says it plans to fit USB chargers and wi-fi to every bus, as well as a valuables storage system.
Says James Cox, CEO of Simba: “The Snoozeliner service is all about helping people top up some valuable lost sleep time in a design that’s every bit as comfortable as their bed at home.”
Passengers onboard the luxury Snoozeliner won’t have to worry about missing their stop, as “stewards will be on hand to wake them up before they reach their destination,” says Simba.
Unlimited free mineral water, with coffee and specially-selected smoothies will also be available onboard, with individual revitalizer kits containing Vitamin C and liver-cleansing Milk Thistle.
Simba says prices will start at just £8.50.
The idea came after it carried out a study earlier this year which uncovered that 94% of British workers have fallen asleep on their commute in the past.
