Wrightbus is claiming its strongest ever start to the year with a record-breaking 12 months set to come.
The Northern Ireland-based bus manufacturer reports that 193 of its delivered buses have already entered service in Greater Manchester and Germany this month.
The positive news falls as Wrightbus has orders for more than 1,200 due to leave the factory throughout 2025.
Manchester’s Bee Network has grown by 162 Wrightbus Streetdeck Ultroliners this month, due to orders from Transport for Greater Manchester, Metroline, Go North West and others.
Further, 31 single-deck Kite Hydroliners have been put into service by RVK in Germany as part of the largest public transport hydrogen bus fleet in Europe.
Meanwhile, the order figure for this year exceeds the 1,016 for 2024, which in turn was up from 623 in 2023 and 427 in 2022.
While Wrightbus is planning to expand in the coming months on its workforce of 2,200, its growth in Germany has been accompanied by the opening of its AllServiceOne service centre in BrĂĽhl.
Wrightbus CEO says Jean-Marc Gales: “We’re proud to be part of Manchester’s Bee Network, and to be playing a huge part in Europe’s largest public transport hydrogen fleet with RVK.
“The launch of our own dedicated AllServiceOne European service centre in Brühl is also a significant milestone for the business as we continue to build ties in Germany.
“We have invested more than ÂŁ500,000 into the facility and will have a 15-strong team by the end of the year.
“This will ensure European customers have easy access to our expertise and is the first step in what will be a growing network of service centres.”
