The deadline for expressions of interest in the Department for Transport’s All Electric Bus Town scheme has been extended from 30 April to 4 June.
No reason has been given for the extension. The scheme is open to English local authorities outside London.
They are expected to work closely with all operators in their area, who must sign up to the proposal and the levels of investment required of them.
In the summer, the scheme will move to phase two, which will see a shortlist of places announced.
