The Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT) has announced details of its National Coach Conference.
Entitled Tomorrow’s World: Driving the coach forward, it will be held in partnership with headline sponsor Irizar UK at the Pera Conference Centre in Melton Mowbray on 4-5 December.
The event will open on day one with Coach Commission. That will be followed by a local familiarisation trip, and later with a supplier one-stop exhibition. A drinks reception and dinner will complete the day’s proceedings.
On day two, the CPT Coach Conference proper gets underway. Chaired by John Johnson of Johnsons Coaches, attendees will be addressed by several senior industry figures.
Among them are CPT Chief Executive Graham Vidler, who will deliver the keynote address, and Senior Traffic Commissioner Richard Turfitt. Mr Turfitt will tackle and debate the key issues that currently affect the coach industry.
Additionally, a speaker from Transport for London will look at its coach Strategy for the capital, while Irizar UK Sales Director Julie Hartley will examine the manufacturer’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.
Operators venturing into Europe will be catered for by CPT International Manager Steven Salmon (pictured), who will tackle the subject of European coaching in tomorrow’s world. Simon Hart, Lead Brexit Partner of RSM, will address the financial implications of the UK’s departure from the EU.
CPT’s forthcoming Coach Strategy will be the subject of a group discussion hosted by Policy Manager Alison Edwards, while the supplier one-stop shop will continue throughout the second day. Numerous suppliers from a variety of disciplines will be present
The conference is open to all operators, regardless of whether they are part of CPT. It is free to members and £95 plus VAT for non-members.
