Ashford, Kent, based Poynters Coaches Ltd has ceased trading and its leased vehicles have been repossessed and are now up for sale at auction – a number have mechanical defects, according to the auctioneers.
The firm – not linked to the similarly named Poynter’s Coaches of Northampton – is owned by Barry Poynter, 56, who is also its sole director and transport manager.
With an O-Licence for 12 vehicles, the firm was established in 2001. It had failed to file its most recent accounts at Companies House.
The firm’s Kent County Council contracts have been reassigned, albeit some on only a temporary basis pending a full tendering exercise.
