The routeone Awards have been postponed until 2021. Organiser Diversified Communications UK has taken the decision in response to the impact of the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic on the coach and bus industry.
Originally scheduled to take place on Wednesday 4 November, the routeone Awards will now be held on Wednesday 27 October 2021 at The Vox, Resorts World, Birmingham. The presentation evening will again recognise excellence and achievement among operators and their people.
In a letter to routeone Awards Partners and Supporters, Diversified Communications UK says that holding the ceremony during 2020 would “not be appropriate” under the current circumstances.
“Doing so could compromise the reputation of what is renowned as the industry’s foremost celebration of excellence. We recognise and respect that businesses throughout the sector are currently focused on ensuring their good health once the pandemic is over,” the letter continues.
Record backing for the routeone Awards had already been pledged by industry partners and supporters. A strong crop of nominations, submitted before the pandemic took hold, had also been received. Diversified Communications UK has thanked those parties for their support.
The decision to postpone the routeone Awards has been made in parallel with the postponement of Euro Bus Expo. The coach and bus industry trade show will now take place on 26-28 October 2021 at the NEC Birmingham.
