Batley operator Safeway Coaches has taken delivery of a Yutong GT12, supplied by Pelican Bus and Coach (01924 227722).

It has 53 seats and a centre sunken toilet, as per the standard GT12 specification. Power is from the 10.8-litre DAF MX-11 engine rated at 450bhp coupled to the ZF EcoLife automatic gearbox.

The GT12 is Safeway’s second Yutong. It was painted in the Safeway Coaches distinctive livery at the factory in China. Vinyls were applied after arrival in the UK.

Pelican will add the longer GT13 to its Yutong range in the future. The two high-specification models sit alongside the TC9 midi and the full-size TC12. Completing the range is the battery-electric TCe12 – the UK’s first zero-emission coach.
