Hodson Coaches of Saxilby, near Lincoln, has ceased trading.
The family firm, run by husband and wife team Alistair and Sue Gooseman along with their son Tim, is just over 100 years old.
It ran 13 vehicles on a mix of school contracts and private hire, based at a modern industrial unit.
Speaking to routeone, Mr Gooseman senior said that all 14 staff have found jobs with other operators.
He said that the decision to cease trading had been prompted by a demand for payment from HMRC, which had declined to accept an offer of a payment plan.
The firm was bought by the Gooseman family on 2009 from the Carter family, and had been buying new coaches and running a ‘tidy’ operation. Mr Gooseman was at pains to point out that the closure was purely due to the HMRC.
There is no connection between the Gooseman’s firm and the similarly named Hodsons Coaches of Clithroe.
