No one has anything against the good work that community transport operators do, but we do object to the use of permit holders being allowed to tender for commercial work or tender for such work under the guise of charitable work and not for profit.
I have been in the industry for over 40 years and have always found the law very clear on hire and reward. This two-tier system of the Driver CPC and the vehicle licencing that has surfaced over the lack of alignment with the 1985 RTA and the 1071/2009 EC regulation needs to be addressed properly.
I have started the petition ‘Stop putting school children's lives at risk’ and wanted to ask if readers could add their name too.
This campaign means a lot to me and a large sector of our industry. We need all the support we can get for a better chance of succeeding.
