Charles William (Bill) Barker, who was the last surviving second generation family member to own and direct Grayscroft Bus Services, passed away peacefully in Boston’s Pilgrim Hospital on 9 December, aged 90.
Mablethorpe-born Bill’s family firm involvement started at an early age. After National Service, he and his brothers Dick and Noel ran it, taking full control in 1961 when their father, Charles, died.
His family say Bill’s job was his hobby and he tried always to uphold the company motto: ‘At Your Service’.
He leaves behind a sister, two sons, their families, four grandchildren and a great granddaughter.
