Bus operator Go North East is assisting a project helping young people with special educational needs and disabilities to live more independently.
The Bus Buddies project, which is being pioneered in the Gateshead area by the Children North East charity, has enabled 27 young people to use public transport to reach school, college, work or access leisure activities.
Go North East has helped the project by awarding free bus passes to some of those young people taking part and their support workers.
