José Manuel Orcasitas has retired from Irizar Group after more than 26 years with the company, and the last 10 years as CEO. His position has been filled by 44-year-old Rafael Sterling, the group’s former International Business Director.
Mr Sterling is married with three children. He holds an MS in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of the Basque Country and an Executive MBA from Deusto Business School.
As it celebrates 130 years in business, Irizar has an aggregate turnover of €750 million (2018) is financially strong, geographically and industrially diversified and continuously growing and is firmly committed to the brand, technology and sustainability.
The company has undergone a profound transformation in recent years, becoming an industrially and geographically diversified business group which operates in six business areas, including passenger transport, electromobility, electronics, electric motors and generators, connectivity and energy.
An Irizar spokesman congratulated Mr Sterling on the appointment.
