Mike Cooper, CEO of Eurostar, will assume the position of CEO at Arriva Group, effective from October 2020.

Mike returns to Arriva having previously worked several roles there over a nine-year history, including as Managing Director of its UK Bus Division and as Deputy Group CEO and Managing Director Mainland Europe. Dr Manfred Rudhart led as Arriva Group CEO for five years before him.

Mike says: “I am looking forward to rejoining Arriva. Recent events have disrupted all forms of transport, but it has brought into sharp focus the important role passenger transport plays in the modern world, from keeping people connected and supporting key workers in the fight against the coronavirus through to aiding economic recovery.

“I am looking forward to working with the Arriva team and in partnership with Deutsche Bahn to ensure Arriva adapts to the changing market conditions.”

Adds Dr Levin Holle, CFO at Deutsche Bahn and Chariman of the Board of Director of Arriva: “I am excited to welcome Mike back to Arriva in his new role as Group CEO. His track record and significant pan-European industry experience combined with his leadership experience in customer facing industries makes him the ideal person to lead Arriva through the next phase of its development.”
