Nexus, the public body which owns and manages the Tyne and Wear Metro, has appointed a new Customer Services Director.
Huw Lewis will be responsible for providing strategic vision and clear direction for the delivery of customer services, ensuring excellence across the services that Nexus delivers.
He says: “I am immensely proud to be one of a team working to provide excellence in local public transport, including Metro and the Shields Ferry, which I have used since I was a student.”
Huw has been with Nexus since 2005, most recently as a Corporate Manager for Customer Services and Communications.
He has played a part in the roll-out of smart ticketing, the fight against metal theft on railways, and campaigns to win investment to modernise Metro and manage the impact of works on passengers and residents.
Managing Director of Nexus, Tobyn Hughes, said: “Customer service excellence is at the heart of everything that we do and Huw’s new role is to lead improvements for passengers in all of the services that we deliver in Tyne and Wear.”
