Roy Lewis, 74, former proprietor of Lewis Coaches of Coventry has died peacefully.

He started as a draughtsman at Dunlop before following in his father, Arthur Lewis’ footsteps to join the family business Lewis Taxis & Minibuses in the 1960s.

After his father’s death, Roy expanded into coaching as Roy Lewis Coaches, running a large fleet of coaches, minibuses and taxis mainly on local authority contract work.

Roy’s son Marcus Lewis joined 25 years ago and, after his father’s retirement, now trades as Marcus Lewis Coaches.

The funeral is on Friday 23 March at 1330hrs at Canley Crematorium, Coventry, and afterwards at the Village Hotel. All welcome; details from AJ Lloyd Funeral Directors, Coventry.
