Phil Owen has been named Head of Sales (Key Accounts) by Wrightbus. The former Volvo Buses man has 28 years of industry experience and was most recently working in the sector’s operating side.
Mr Owen’s decision to join Wrightbus represents a further senior appointment by the reborn Ballymena manufacturer, which in April named Jean-Marc Gales as Chief Executive Officer.
Speaking about his job change, Mr Owen says: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining the team at Wrightbus. The vision, direction and drive that the senior team has for supporting the industry to meet its various net zero targets is clear.
“Offering the most efficient products, comprehensive support packages and further investment in the business will bring confidence and peace of mind to our customers when making procurement decisions for their future transport requirements.”
Wrightbus Director of Sales and Business Development John McLeister has welcomed Mr Owen to the business, noting that he is “thrilled to have Phil join the sales team.”
Adds Mr McLeister: “Phil needs no introduction to the bus industry and he brings an abundance of knowledge and experience that will complement the existing team.
