Reading FC may be pushing for promotion, but it’s team Reading Buses who have already got the silverware.
Its team won the final of the National Passenger Transport Sports Association football tournament, in their first season back after an absence of 16 years.
The team – mainly made up of drivers – secured the Cadwallader Cup in Birmingham with a 6-1 victory over Arriva Merseyside Green Lane depot.
Says Chief Executive Martijn Gilbert, who attended the final with the team: “We are extremely proud of the team and their efforts in the competition.
“It’s a big thank you and well done to everyone involved in the team, and to those who supported the players on the day.”
