The first monthly ‘Stars’ of this year have been announced by Reading Buses.

The first accolades go to Justin Smith, Anne-Marie Elliott and Leon Emmett.

Driver Justin (pictured), was awarded ‘Star of the month’ status for assisting a female who was in a traumatic and very distressed situation.

Justin was nominated by his manager for ‘going over the call of duty.’

Anne-Marie, from Lower Earley, an Allocations Officer, was nominated by her Manager Dan Bassett.

Ann-Marie was seconded from driving to the allocations role and took to it instantly. Dan says that she was ‘constantly exceptional in her role’ as well as being a ‘dedicated and model employee.’

The final star to be announced was Leon Emmett, a night shunter-cleaner working at the Newbury depot.

Leon was praised for ‘going above and beyond’ his job to ensure that everything is clean, tidy and in good working order.
