Transaid has appointed Sam Clark as its new Head of Programmes.
He replaces Caroline Barber, who was promoted to Chief Executive in August.
Sam’s experience in the development sector comes from the 20 years he spent in various community-based development programmes for several non-governmental organisations in Malawi, Tanzania and South Africa.
Those experiences allowed him to work across a wide variety of overseas projects, which has continued during his time with Transaid.
In 2013, he joined Transaid as Programme Support Manager, where his responsibilities included offering support in the field, conducting quality assurance, and offering technical assistance to many of Transaid’s programmes.
His most notable project for Transaid currently sees him playing a leading role in the Professional Driver Training – Uganda project, which to date is one of Transaid’s largest externally funded road safety programmes.
Sam says: “I am very excited to take on the role of Head of Programmes.
The organisation truly aims to make the biggest impact possible to the widest variety of people and it’s inspiring to be part of its growing journey.
“I’m really looking forward to this new opportunity to develop relations with partners that I wouldn’t have worked with before and to get actively involved in more of our projects.”
