Selwyn Jones will retire from his position as Managing Director of Runcorn operator Selwyns Travel at the end of September.

Mr Jones jointly founded the business with his father in 1968. It runs 125 vehicles from three locations in Cheshire, Greater Manchester and Wirral and employs 250 staff. It was purchased by RATP Dev in 2013.

Derek Lott will take over as MD on 1 October. He has many years of experience in the transport industry and has held several senior positions within the RATP Dev group. Him and Mr Jones are currently engaged in a handover period.

“RATP Dev expresses its thanks to Selwyn Jones for his dedication and leadership over the past five decades. We wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement,” the company says in a statement.

“We look forward to receiving his continued input and support as an advisor to the board of the company for a period.”
