Great Manchester, Bristol and Cornwall local authorities will stop receiving most dedicated local transport grants from the Department for Transport, in return for being allowed to retain 100% of their local business rates revenues. Six areas are taking part in the government pilot, which starts from April: Greater London, Greater Manchester, Liverpool, West Midlands, Cornwall, Bristol region.
