CitySwift has launched what it says is the bus industry’s first end-to-end contract lifecycle management system to help local authorities to effectively automate oversight of those arrangements.
The supplier adds that the platform will suit such bodies that have already commenced the franchising of bus services, are looking to do so, or are managing subsidised routes. It provides a centralised repository for contracts; data cleansing and validation; a KPI calculation engine; and automated financial settlements for full lifecycle management.
CitySwift Vice-President of Product Gearoid Hynes described the contract and performance management platform as something that will give transport authorities “the tools they need to move from reactive monitoring to proactive optimisation.”
He continues: “By automating the time-consuming tasks of data verification and contract calculations, in addition to surfacing and resolving performance issues, we empower teams to focus on what really matters: delivering better bus services to passengers.”
Support comes from the core CitySwift product suite. Its data engine collects, analyses, cleans and connects the transport network’s data to ensure that each contract is measured against high-quality data.
That data feeds into CitySwift’s existing products to help local transport authorities to simulate timetable scenarios, assess bid feasibility, and optimise on-road performance in ever-changing traffic conditions.
CitySwift co-founder and CEO Brian O’Rourke says: “Our focus is on developing high-quality data to create a single source of operational truth that both transport operators and authorities can rely on.
“CitySwift automates trust through verified data, removing the guesswork from network management and performance optimisation. With our innovative new offering, authorities gain the oversight they require, and operators gain the clarity they need to succeed.”
