Treka’s commitment to safety for drivers and passengers is well-known, and it has revealed details of a further development.
It has fitted a voice-over safety system to its coachbuilt Treka 16 accessible minibus for some time, and the same product will very shortly become standard to the converted Treka Van. It delivers a variety of warnings in clear speech – and at no cost to the buyer.
“We’ve always had spoken warnings in our coachbuilt model but it was difficult to install on a van conversion. That was a bugbear for us,” says MD Morgan Clissett.
“Warning buzzers are all well and good, but when there are so many of them, they become background noise. With Carnation Designs we have overcome that and we will be rolling out the voice-over system in our conversions over the summer.”
Warnings can be spoken in any language, and for Welsh operators, they can be bilingual.
Treka also continues to develop its CCTV offering. It has found that take-up from buyers has increased hugely. “In 2016, we had two customers that specified CCTV. Now, more than 50% of orders require it,” adds Morgan.
Treka’s training offer, meanwhile, is something that it continues to promote. Customers are welcomed to its Brighouse production facility to learn about their vehicles, and the Treka Champions scheme additionally delivers a greater depth of knowledge to help deal with minor issues.
Also soon to be available on Treka’s website will be a variety of ‘how to’ videos, produced in partnership with suppliers.
