Hidral Gobel has continued the supply of passenger lifts for Yutong GTe14 battery-electric coaches in the Ember Core fleet as the operator forges further growth, including with a service to Aberdeen.
Each of the GTe14 models has a Gobel 300 automatic lift. They are installed at vehicle dealership Pelican Bus and Coach, with the fitting team there having been trained by representatives of the Hidral Gobel aftersales function on-site at Castleford.
The lifts are to a cassette layout that the manufacturer says allows either fitment at the time the vehicle is built, or as retrofit later in life.
Hidral Gobel adds that the lifts “are designed to operate in heavy duty, high cycle count operations,” and notes that in the case of failure, the units can still be stowed manually to allow vehicles to complete the journey. A network of dealers around the UK carries out service and repairs.
Ember is using the GTe14 coaches to expand its offering in Scotland, and the operator recently told routeone that it does not rule out taking the zero-emission scheduled coaching product further. The tri-axles sit alongside TCe12 two-axle models with the operator.
